SOUTH PATAGONIA

Feeling like you're at the end of the world is the sensation you'll have once you arrive in Southern Patagonia!

Between the ocean on one side and the mountains on the other, with its harsh climate and typical steppes constantly swept by winds that can reach up to 130 km/h, you'll succumb to the charm of this southern territory, considered the southernmost in the world!

The city of Puerto Natales, in the heart of Patagonia, is the gateway to Torres del Paine National Park. It boasts glaciers, each more impressive than the last, submerged in lakes or the sea, magnificent granite towers, the famous Torres del Paine, immense mountains with their snow-capped peaks, and a diverse flora and fauna.

Further south, you will discover the Tierra del Fuego island with its capital Porvenir, ideal for observing wildlife (penguins, whales, guanacos, condors, etc.). There is also Navarino Island with its capital Puerto Williams, which is part of the Chilean Antarctic province. It is possible to take several excursions including a navigation on the Darwin route, or a flight over Cape Horn, known as the southernmost point of South America.

Ideas for excursions in Patagonia:

A cruise through the heart of the Chilean glaciers, a stroll in a magnificent setting where you'll appreciate nature in its purest form and its magnificent landscapes. Ideal for photography enthusiasts!

A trek in Torres del Paine National Park: an unforgettable experience guaranteed for hiking enthusiasts and lovers of the great outdoors. Watching a midnight sunset against a pinkish-orange sky is a memory that will leave you with a lasting impression.

Feel like a penguin for a morning meeting these small members of the bird family on Magdalena Island, which can number over a hundred thousand in summer. You'll appreciate their unusual behavior, as will the crossing of the Strait of Magellan to reach the island.

The departure of an Australis cruise to cross Cape Horn, and for the most motivated, even a flight over this national park. A spectacle seen from the sky that will give you a comprehensive view of this archipelago of islands south of Tierra del Fuego.

Typical cuisine, featuring seafood and local game, will also be a delight for hedonistic travelers: dishes made with Centolla (local spider crab), Calafate Sour cocktails made with mountain berries, or the famous "Asado al palo de Cordero" (lamb barbecue) will give you the energy to get through your often busy and exciting days!

Combination idea: From Puerto Natales, you can head to the city of El Calafate to continue your journey in Argentine Patagonia, where you'll discover other glaciers like the famous Perito Moreno and other mountains like Fitz Roy.
