TRIP TO ARGENTINA

The 5150km land border between Argentina and Chile is the longest international border in South America and the third longest in the world. We can include stays in Argentina in your tours.

Argentina is located in the southern triangle of South America. It borders Chile to the west, Paraguay and Bolivia to the northwest, and Brazil and Uruguay to the northeast.

Argentina's territory is divided into 23 provinces and the autonomous city of Buenos Aires, the country's most populous city. Located in the south of the American continent, Argentina is the 8th largest country in the world.

If you can, we recommend that you visit this wonderful country from October to April, although May can also be included.

Now one of the world's leading tourist destinations, Argentina never ceases to impress. The country is home to a wide variety of landscapes and ecosystems, due in no small part to its steep climatic gradient. The dominant ecosystem is the pampas, home to an original and often endemic biodiversity.

BUENOS AIRES

:
Buenos Aires

A port city on the estuary of the Rio de la Plata (opposite Uruguay), Buenos Aires is Argentina's commercial and cultural hub.

The political center of the country, the Plaza de Mayo is home to the Casa Rosada, the former City Hall where independence was achieved, and the fountain around which the “Madwomen of May” marched in protest against the disappearance of their sons during the military dictatorship.

Avenue du 9 Juillet is impressively wide. Since 1936, an obelisk commemorating the city's 400th anniversary has stood at its center, in the Place de la République. This square is crossed by Corrientes Avenue, recommended for nightlife. A short distance away, Florida Street (pedestrianized) is home to numerous small shops.

The old quarter of San Telmo is famous for its cabarets, a favorite haunt of tango lovers. Antique and second-hand shops are also part of the landscape.

In the extreme south-east of the city, by the ocean, lies the popular La Boca district, once home to immigrants from Italy.

IGUAZU FALLS

:
Iguazu

In the far north-east of Argentina, on the border with Brazil, the spectacular Iguazu Falls form a semicircle 3 km wide and 80 m high.

The surrounding subtropical forest (Iguazu National Park) is home to over 2,000 species of plants, as well as the region's typical fauna: tapirs, giant anteaters, howler monkeys, ocelots, jaguars and caimans.

SALTA

:
Salta

Founded in 1582, Salta is known for its Spanish colonial architecture and Andean heritage.

Just a 2h15 flight from Buenos Aires, it is a provincial capital located in Argentina's mountainous northwest.

The city is built around the Plaza 9 de Julio, the town's main square, named in commemoration of Argentina's Independence Day and the place where the city of Salta was founded. Around this square, we can see the city's most important colonial-style landmarks, such as the Cabildo, the Cathedral and the Museo de Arqueología de Alta Montaña (MAAM). You'll also find plenty of places to eat, as well as more than a hundred trees - a handy place to take shelter on hot summer days!

Also worth a visit is the MAAM, opened in 2004 to safeguard, study and disseminate the discovery of the children of Llullaillaco, one of the most important archaeological finds of recent times, at the height of the Inca state, shortly before the arrival of the Spanish.
After dark, why not discover Argentine culture on a folklore tour, or enjoy a good “Parilla” (barbecue) with local meats.

BARILOCHE

:
Bariloche

Located at the foot of the Andes and on the shores of Lake Nahuel Huapi, Bariloche is surrounded by a magnificent natural environment.

Bariloche is a two-hour flight from Buenos Aires, an hour's flight from El Calafate, and a few hours by bus or boat from Puerto Varas in Chile.

Bariloche is one of Argentina's most popular tourist destinations. Everything comes together in perfect harmony, from comfort to the beauty offered by the natural environment of Nahuel Huapi National Park.

EL CALAFATE

:
El Calafate

El Calafate is a small village with a population of over 4,000, whose main source of income is tourism.

The village lies on the shores of Lake Argentino (Lago Argentino), close to the. The Patagonian Glaciers National Park was created in 1937.

You can discover the famous Upsala and Spegazzini glaciers on a sailing trip. The view is absolutely fabulous! In 1981, UNESCO declared the park a World Heritage Site. The Perito Moreno, visible by land, is world-famous for its falling blocks of ice into the lake.

USHUAIA

:
Ushuaia

The city of Ushuaia, capital of Tierra del Fuego, is located on the banks of the Beagle Channel, 3580km from Buenos Aires.

In addition to economic activities such as shipbuilding, logging and fishing, Ushuaia is a major tourist center.

The environment offers superb opportunities for hiking and walking at sea, in the mountains and in the forest, including the Tierra del Fuego National Park. It's also a good starting point for cruises to Antarctica, Punta Arenas or cruise ships.

Argentina is a very diverse country that promotes culture in all its different fields.

At the time of its independence, the country was known as “the Paris of America” for its cultural diversity and style.

There are important museums of archaeology, history and art, and indigenous music such as folklore and tango are showcased.

Reunions between family and friends are also a feature of Argentines, who often get together to share meals, particularly asado (barbecue, thanks to the excellent quality of its meats).

Warm, danceable and welcoming, Argentina is an excellent travel destination!
